The US Embassy is located in Beijing. It houses more than 20 federal agencies and has five consulates general in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang and Wuhan.

 

 

1. The U.S. Embassy in Beijing

The US Embassy is located at No. 55 An Jia Lou Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing 100600.

If you are a US citizen and need to use the U.S. Embassy in Beijing's American Citizen Services for the following purposes, you must make an appointment online to visit it.

  • Applying for a U.S. passport for minors and adults, including renewal, lost/stolen and first issuance
  • Adding visa pages to a U.S. passport
  • Applying for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) and first U.S. passport for children born outside the United States
  • Notarial Services
  • Marriageability Affidavit

2. The U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu

This consular district includes the following:

  • Guizhou
  • Sichuan
  • Xizang (or Tibet, where the Mount Everest Lies)
  • Yunnan
  • The municipality of Chongqing

The U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan

The Consulate General in Wuhan was established in November 2007 and had its official opening ceremony in November 2008. It's the fifth consulate general of the US Embassy China and currently does not provide visa services. Visa applications will be handled as before through the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.

Operation Hours:

The consulate is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed on these American and Chinese holidays.
